Rent Stabilization for Senior Citizens
SCRIE helps eligible senior citizens ages 62 and over stay in affordable housing by freezing their rent at a certain amount. Tenants pay the frozen rent. A property tax credit covers the difference between the actual rent amount and the frozen rent. See the website for eligibility requirements.
NYC Fair Fares Program for Half-Price Transportation
Apply to the NYC city program to help people who live in New York City with low incomes manage their transportation costs. Eligible New York City residents can apply receive a 50% discount on subway and eligible bus fares or Access-A-Ride fares. Applications require submitting personal information related to identity, residency, and income. Fair Fares NYC will not ask about your status or record any information regarding immigration status.
Child care vouchers for children 6 weeks to 13 years old
Apply for vouchers from the city to help cover the cost of child care for children 6 weeks to 13 years old at home-based and center-based providers across NYC. Most families are required to pay part of the costs based on their income and family size, but your voucher will cover all of the costs if you are: a family on cash assistance, a family experiencing homelessness, or a foster care parent.
