Improving Access to Healthcare for Immigrants
Call (718) 418-7690. Make the Road New York works to guarantee equal rights, access, and improved healthcare for the 2.5 million New Yorkers with limited English proficiency. Provides one-on-one assistance with health insurance and food stamp enrollment, hospital bill negotiation, health system navigation, nutrition education and emergency food services, Community Health Worker training and services, and HIV testing referrals.
Mejorando el acceso al servicio médico para los inmigrantes
Make the Road New York quiere garantizar la igualdad, acceso, y el mejoramiento del servicio médico para los 2,5 millones de Neoyorquinos con manejo limitado del idioma inglés. Ofrecemos ayuda personal con el registro para el seguro médico y los food stamps, la negociación de las facturas del hospital, la navegación del sistema médico, nutrición, servicios de alimentación de emergencia, entrenamiento y servicios de trabajadores comunitarios de la salud, y derivaciones para pruebas de VIH.
Clases de inglés y educación cívica
Un tercio de los adultos neoyorqinos—más de dos millones de personas—carecen del conocimiento del idioma inglés o un diploma de educación secundaria, pero como resultado de una falta de fondos solo el 3% de ellos pueden acceder a las clases necesarias.
